The Wano Country Arc of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga has already revealed a lot of things, but that doesn’t end there as Chapter 1047 added some facts about the former pirate king, Gol D. Roger.
During the fight between Kaido and Luffy, who had already awakened his devil fruit, Yonko Kaido told Luffy that Pirate King Roger didn’t have the power of the devil fruit. Kaido also added that a very strong Haki is more than enough to conquer the world.
While the One Piece series already showed several fights featuring Gol D. Rogers, this is the first time the series has revealed such crucial details. Previously, One Piece showed how terrifying Roger is by allowing him to fight well-known characters such as Garp, Shiki, Whitebeard, Rocks, and more. While some of these characters have the power of devil fruit, Roger was still able to stand against them.
Unfortunately, Roger allowed himself to be captured by the government. Before his execution, Roger inspired the crowd by shouting:
My treasure? If you want it, I’ll grant it! Search on! All the world had to offer, I left in that place!
Roger died after the executioners stabbed him.
