As the Wano Country Arc continues, the latest One Piece manga chapter sees two dragons facing each other. The manga has already hinted at this meeting after Momonosuke asked Shinubo to turn him into an adult. With the release of Chapter 1025, Momonosuke’s wish has been granted, allowing him to transform into a fully-grown dragon.
This isn’t the first time for Momonosuke to turn into his dragon form after eating the artificial Zoan fruit during the Dressrosa Arc. However, this is the first time for the heir of the Wano Country to transform into his adult dragon form.
Yonko Dragon Meets the Samurai Dragon
Despite becoming an adult, Momonosuke was still afraid of heights. But with Luffy’s encouragement, Momonosuke and Luffy were able to get back to the flying island of Onigashima.
Momonosuke keeps on infiltrating the Onigashima island by making his own way through the floors of the Skull Dome. Starting from the first floor, Momonosuke and Luffy managed to reach the top floor of the Skull Dome, where Yonko Kaid and his daughter Yamato are fighting. Upon arrival, Luffy immediately turned Gear Fourth and attacked Kaido.
Kaido gets up, but instead of launching a counter-attack against Luffy and Yamato, the captain of the Beasts Pirates’ attention is caught by the peach-colored dragon in front of him. Yonko Kaido asked who the dragon was in front of him. While Momonosuke is still experiencing fear, he answered Kaido’s question and shouted his name and his goal of becoming the Shogun of the Wano Country.
How did Momonosuke turn into an adult dragon?
While the manga introduced Momonosuke as a child who time traveled into the future, Momonosuke became an adult after Shinobu granted his request. Shinobu is a paramecia-type devil fruit user who matures anything that she touches.
In the previous chapter, Momonosuke asked Shinobu to use her power on him. At first, Shinobu was hesitant to grant the request of the young lord. But later in the manga, we finally see an adult Momonosuke, confirming that Shinobu uses her devil fruit power on Momonosuke.
