One Piece Surpised Fans with Dr. Vegapunk’s Debut

There are lots of unexpected surprises in the recently ended Wano Country Arc in the One Piece series. However, it seems that manga author Eiichiro Oda’s work is still far from over as he surprised fans with the debut of Dr. Vegapunk.

In the recently released One Piece Chapter 1061, manga fans were shocked to see when the author unexpectedly revealed Dr. Vegapunk’s appearance. After rescuing Jewelry Bonney, the Straw Hat Pirate’s ship was attacked by a robot shark, resulting in the sinking of the ship.

All the remaining crew members on the ship are worried, but another turn of events has surprised them. After the robot shark attack, another giant robot appeared and carried the Thousand Sunny back to the surface of the sea.

Shortly, a female character appeared, saying that it was another failure, referring to the mecha shark that attacked the Straw Hat’s ship. Franky expressed her gratitude for saving them and the ship, but it seems that it was not her intention to save them.

At the same time, the female character told the Straw Hat crew she was working for the government. She also revealed that she was called Dr. Vegapunk.

Who is Vegapunk?

Dr. Vegapunk is considered the greatest scientific genius working for the government. Vegapunk was known for his unmatched intelligence, from cell biology to military technology, as stated by Franky.

With her skills and scientific expertise, it is said that Vegapunk is 500 years ahead of the current technology, which is why it is not surprising to see a Pacifista during the early years of the One Piece series. In Chapter 1059, her new version of Pacifista called Seraphim appeared in the Amazon Lily. It is also worth noting that Dr. Vegapunk was part of the scientific research in the Punk Hazard known as MADS, where she worked alongside Ceasar Clown, Queen, and Vinsmoke Judge.
